Update: There’s still a lot of wine to drink! My paintings continue to be on exhibit at Wine Expo

September 10th, 2011 by

I am very honored to have the opportunity to continue exhibiting my work at Wine Expo in Santa Monica. Since the first opening, I've switched out a few pieces, to keep it fresh. Check out www.wineexpo.com for special events and deals. Happy Hour at the Wine Bar is from 5 - 7 pm 4 days a week (every day except Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays)! In addition, there is a schedule for gourmet food trucks that park outside so you can enjoy a meal, if you need something more than the standard tasting bar fare. You are welcome to bring these purchases into the Wine Bar to eat them.

Wine Expo is located at

2933 Santa Monica Boulevard

Santa Monica, CA  90404

What do fine wine and my art have in common?

October 18th, 2010 by

I'm on display right now at Wine Expo

Yes, I do occasionally have a glass while I’m painting, but I usually trance out in what I’m doing and either forget that it’s there or worse, dip my brush into it instead of my water. Right now and throughout the end of February, several of my paintings and collages are on display in the new Wine Tasting Room at Wine Expo in Santa Monica. Wine Expo is a high-end wine and liquor vendor with a great concept. They sell only European wines that they have tasted themselves so that they can honestly match you up with something wonderful according to your personal likes and budget. The Wine Tasting Room doubles as a gallery, so you can sit, chat, enjoy some great wine and look at art. My work is accompanied by the powerful and enigmatic paintings of John C. Ransom. www.johnransomla.com You can also visit the store during the day to see the art, if you don’t want to drink at the bar. The store is a real find. The staff knows their stuff, but is very down-to-earth. They also carry everything from little-known microbrewery beers to absinthe or hard-to-find single malt Scotches. Check it out.
